Federal contracts can be a potentially lucrative opportunity for small businesses. While the biding process can be initially difficult, the rewards can be many. For women owned businesses and minority owned businesses, special opportunities may be available to obtain the rights to fill some of the contracts.

Note that a woman or personal of minority to a small business having majority ownership is never enough to take advantage of many of the special contracting opportunities offered by the federal government - women or person's of minority must be actively involved in the business and be in possession of the knowledge and authority to run the business.
